Bachelor Programme space&designstrategies

Students of the six-semester Bachelor Programme space&designstrategies are given an in-depth, practical and varied training in the field of space-related design. In addition to designing individual objects (furniture, set pieces, etc.), students learn to develop and implement spatially relevant concepts (space-use concepts, realisations in space and virtual space systems) through concrete projects. Other key training objectives of this project-oriented curriculum include:

  • the concept-driven scanning, understanding and shaping of public and private spaces in connection with modern digital media,
  • the expert study, evaluation and use of materials, manufacturing technologies and materials science
  • the learning of methods and strategies of design as well as of presentation and implementation techniques to give more effective shape to ideas and objectives.
  • Moreover, the curriculum promotes the analysis and development of individual creative positions in the fields of art, architecture, design and digital media. The implementation of designs and concepts additionally fosters the willingness and ability to work as part of a team, the level of verbal self-articulation and the development of organisational strategies, all of which are acquiring increasing importance in artistic professions.

Academic Title
BA (Bachelor of Arts)

Career Options
The Bachelor Pprogramme is structured to enable students to deepen their knowledge after graduation in the subsequent Master Programme and to find a career in a great variety of different activity areas in the fields of art, architecture, design and digital media, but also in the generally wider field of the creative industries in general.
In fact, the career objective for students is not a closely circumscribed field but rather the ability and competence to work reflectively and professionally in larger, open-ended activity areas as well as in international and interdisciplinary projects and to find their own artistic position.
