Borrowing

Library card
Before borrowing books or other media for the first time, you must register as a user of the University Library, i.e. you have to fill in a master data sheet at the UL and prove your identity by presenting a valid photo ID and your current residence registration form. You will receive your personal library card with your user ID immediately. Please show your library card whenever you want to borrow a book or other medium.

Lending regulations
You can take out a maximum of 25 media units on one card.
For more details, please consult the library rules or see a member of the UL staff for help.

Loan periods
The loan period is 30 calendar days for books and 5 calendar days for AV media.

Change of address
Please note that you have to communicate any change of your residential or e-mail address immediately and directly to the UL. (The Admission Department does not forward any changes in personal data reported to them!)

Fines
Borrowing is currently free of charge.
However, if books or other media are returned late, an overdue fine as well as a daily charge for each book/AV medium will apply. The current rates of fines are shown in the library rules.
