This cross-curricular Centre combines both service and research functions with the objective of implementing new findings in the fields of materials technology, production technology and environmental technology. The increasingly wide spectrum of these scientific disciplines harbours an infinite series of challenges for artistic creativity.
The Centre enables the transfer of technical potentials towards artistic implementation. Through the specialised curriculum scionic, which is likewise supported by the Centre, particular attention is paid to the use of new materials and production methods for training and research in the field of industrial design. The Centre provides assistance to all study programmes in both theoretical and practical work and is supported by a materials engineering collection.
