Erasmus University Charta

POLICY STATEMENT
Kunstuniversität Linz (University of Art & Design Linz) pursues the process of internationalisation under three main aspects:

1. Professional Internationality

2. Social Relevance

3. Quality development

ERASMUS as a strategic instrument of internationalisation
Over the time the ERASMUS-program has become the most effective instrument of internationalisation. In recent years incoming as well as outgoing rates have increased significantly. Especially the incoming students and teachers are considered most important for the process of internationalisation. They do not only make internationality and multiculturality visible and perceptible for everybody, but also contribute to the internationalisation of those members of the university who - for one reason or the other - are not able to go abroad themselves.

Learning together and from each other - in the European HE-area
Today the University of Art and Design Linz participates more intensive and active than ever within the activities of international organisations and networks of art and design schools and universities (CUMULUS, ELIA). ERASMUS partnerships play a key role here and can be fostered and widened through membership in the organisations. The continuing discussion on the effects of the Bologna process and lifelong learning as well as collaboration within these networks provide an important basis for the international strategy of the university. To learn from each other motivates the involved individuals and whole institutions alike remarkably.

LLL requires a new culture of inclusiveness: fostering transparency, access and participation
Starting with the new Lifelong Learning (LLL) Program communication and transparency in the field of internationalisation shall be intensified. The new website has been designed to communicate - not only guidelines and general informations but also aims and goals of the internationalisation process. Equality of men and women and prevention of all kinds of discrimination are main goals of the university. Especially in the context of international activities we try to foster, implement and communicate engagement, inclusivenessand intercultural dialogue.
