Linz was European Capital of Culture in 2009!

Students are our most important clients and at the focus of our intentions:

Outgoings ...

On the one hand we support our regular students who plan to spend a semester or two at another university or consider a placement abroad to gain international professional experiences. This is part of the general and subject specific educational aims and tasks of an up to date international university. Outgoing students are our most effective embassadors.

... as well as Incomings
On the other hand it is at least as important to support and motivate international exchange students to spend their exchange semesters here in Linz.
Incoming students make most relevant contributions to the internationalisation process of an university. One should not forget that even if mobility numbers are increasing the majority of the members of an institution - staff as well as students - are still not able to go abroad - for whatever reasons - and won't be so in the future as far we can see now. Incomings make it possible that these people can experience internationality and develope their intercultural communication skills at home.

Our services
The international office of Kunstuniversität Linz is a very small department - with service and organisational tasks but also with strategic functions. Therefor we cannot offer full service round the clock for every student.
But we also think that this is not desirable. In our view students are independent, critical and self responsible adult clients who want to be well informed but decide themselves - and thus are able and willing to take their own part in the preparation of their exchange semesters.
It is our duty to offer them all relevant and helpful informations, practical advice and personal support wherever it is possible and/or necessary.
And of course we also take care of bureaucratic stuff and prepare the formal steps towards exchange.

Practically speaking:
what we can do for you ...

What we cannot do for you ...
