To facilitate a better reconciliation of work and family, the Co-ordination Office for Gender Issues of the University for Art and Industrial Design Linz and the Austrian Students Union (ÖH) initiated the project KuKi Kiste. Since summer semester 2006, the Kuki Kiste has been offering services for parent students and employees of the University for Art and Industrial Design Linz at Hauptplatz 8.
• In the Spielstube, two trained Childminders from the Hilfswerk OÖ provide flexible child care: after registering, your child/children (aged 1+) can spend up to 15 hours per week at the KuKi Kiste (costs: app. € 1 per hour).
• In the Elternzimmer, parents can use PC workstations with internet access and a kitchenette.
• During our office hours, we provide information and give advice on issues related to children and child care, child care facilities, financial aids & legal provisions, as well as on re-entering job/studies.
• We co-ordinate hourly child care in the Spielstube during events as well as a babysitter platform and a parent2parent system.
The above mentioned services are primarily available to parent students/employees of the University for Art and Industrial Design Linz. Parents will be charged a semesterly fee of € 15 (students) or € 20 (employees) per registered child.
In case there are free places, students or employees of other universities are welcome to register their children with the KuKi Kiste. The office of the KuKi Kiste will be glad to inform you about the charges for externals.
The KuKi Kiste is intended to be a place for parents and children to play (together), to relax, to work as well as to communicate, exchange information and receive advice. Our Childminders support the children's development on many different levels. For more information see our information leaflet on child care Kleinkindbetreuung.pdf (in German).
Please help us to keep up the high standard of individual child care by filling in the corresponding section of our Folder.pdf (in German) and sending it to us.
