Due to its geographical position, Oberoesterreich offers the ideal location for this academic program. The University of Art and Design Linz is the only university in Austria to offer both a teachers training degree in textiles along with a bachelors and masters degree in „Textiles/Art and Design“. The Textile Centre Haslach is just 45km north of Linz and lies in the traditional linen weaving province of Muehlviertel.  This Centre is situated on historical factory grounds which also encompass a textile museum, studios and workshops, an extensive pattern archive as well as modern industrial looms. The modern industrial equipment was transferred to the Textile Centre Haslach from the long-standing Textile College Haslach following its closure.  The machines are now available to the course participants for experimental purposes along with the support of technical specialists. Most of the course will be held in Haslach.
