Internationalisation - connecting people, organisations and regions
Internationalisation of organisations is not possible without internationalisation of people, therefore people are at the core of our attention.
As a coordinating administrative department we emphasize information and commmunication, service, personal support and advice - especially for students, but as well for all other members of the university, all kinds of interested people from outside and last but not least for our international partners. Through our activities we try to contribute to transparency, widening participation and inclusiveness.
Internationalisation - improves professional as well as intercultural competencies
Student and staff mobility at our institution serves several different purposes and objectives on the institutional as well as on the individual, personal level. There is the professionally and academically motivated, often subject focused exchange, that contributes to the further development of the academic profile. But there are also more general goals and intercultural motivations, such as gaining multilingual, complementary cultural experiences, fostering inter- and transcultural social and professional competencies and relations.
Internationalisation - an institutional area of successful development
At present our mobility rate (only exchange) is about 5-6% of our student population (incoming and outgoing) - constantly increasing. Over 90% of the student mobility is organised within the Lifelong Learning Program/Erasmus. According to this and also to our self-conception as a European art and design university the main field of our international activities is - needless to say - Europe, but we also cooperate with institutions beyond, f.i. in Latin America or Asia. Wherever: equity, fairness and sustainability are mandatory guidelines for our international engagement.
Internationalisation - ongoing development of curricula and quality culture
As a strategic department we are also responsible for supporting the internationalisation process of our curricula. We try to promote a sustainable quality culture in teaching and learning art and design on the academic level. We undertake regular surveys concerning international tendencies in curriculum development and university didactics, attend national and international conferences and meetings, participate in international working groups and projects and advise our curriculum commitee, study program directors and coordinators.
