The bachelor programme Time-based and Interactive Media – a programme with artistic orientation – provides comprehensive training in digital media theory, technology and design and focuses on time-based media and interactive media.

Time-based media is a term referring to the interlocking areas of moving images (video, animation) and audio in their manifold forms. The factor of time plays a significant role in designing content for these media.

Interactive media adds the aspects “interface” and “interaction” to the programme. Thus the concept and design of the programme are essentially determined by interventions into the sequentiality of media productions and the resulting interaction with them on the one hand and by the design of human-machine interfaces on the other hand.

In both priority areas, a key role is assigned to tackling specific, concrete content. In addition to offering an in-depth, complete basic course in the field of digital media, this bachelor programme lays the foundation and prepares the ground for the master programmes Time-based Media, Interface Cultures, Visual Communication and Media Culture & Art Theories at Kunstuniversität Linz or for similar master programmes at other universities.
