Erasmus+ Programme

Employees of the University of Arts Linz have the opportunity to teach or train abroad in Europe as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Erasmus funding can be applied for for this period.

The University of Arts Linz would like to motivate its employees to teach and train abroad. Mobility can take the form of a business trip

Participation in conferences cannot be funded under the Erasmus programme!

Destinations

the University of the Arts Linz supports mobilities

for teaching and further education purposes in programme countries, i.e. 

The duration of the mobility between the EU Member States and the countries associated with the programme must be at least 2 days (excluding travel time) of physical mobility, not including travel time. 
 

for the purpose of further training also additionally to

The duration of mobility actions to third countries not associated with the programme must be at least 5 days (excluding travel time) of physical mobility. For this group of countries, there must also be an Erasmus contract with the desired university.
 

General requirements:

for teaching and continuing education

  • At least one and a half years of uninterrupted employment at the University of Arts Linz or in individual cases, with special justification, after authorisation by the member of the Rectorate responsible for teaching - shorter employment
  • Mobility can only be held with the authorisation of a business trip.
  • Mobility to the country of residence is not possible.
  • Mobility to the country of origin has the lowest priority.
  • Preference will be given to first-time applicants.
     
  • At least 2 days physical stay (excluding travel time) in a European programme country for teaching or training. 
  • At least 5 days physical stay (without travelling time) in a European partner country for further education (training).

 

Details for teaching stays:

The ERASMUS+ programme supports short-term teaching assignments - Teaching Staff Mobility STA. 
There must be a valid Erasmus+ contract for teaching between the institutions!

  • Teaching at an Erasmus partner university in Europe
  • At least 8 hours of teaching per week
  • If teaching and training are combined, the minimum number of teaching hours per week (or a shorter period of stay) is reduced to 4 hours.
  • Preference will be given to first-time participants.

The teaching stay must be integrated into the semester or study programme of the partner university and take place during semester periods. The Erasmus+ programme supports (individual lump sums) travel and accommodation costs.
 

Details for further education stays:

The ERASMUS+ programme offers opportunities for all employees (academic staff, administrative staff) to acquire knowledge and professional experience (Staff Training STT) abroad: Further training, job shadowing, study visits, workshops, language courses etc.

Further training can be funded at an institution based in a programme country (minimum stay of 2 days without travel days) or in a European partner country third countries not associated with the programme from regions 1, 13 and 14 (minimum stay of 5 days without travel days), which is active in the labour market or in the fields of education, training or youth. The further education programme can also be carried out at an Erasmus partner university in the European Higher Education Area.
 

Details on the types of further training:

Organised further education: Erasmus Staff Training Weeks
Staff Training Weeks (STW) take place at universities. Invitations are distributed via the International Office. Some Staff Weeks are thematically limited and are aimed at a specific target audience (e.g. library or IT staff), others offer a very broad range of topics and present the different areas of the university. The advantage of a Staff Training Week is that a fixed programme is already planned and the university is prepared for guests during this period. This allows you to make additional contacts. The Staff Week is a good opportunity to get to know colleagues from other universities, facilitates the exchange of ideas and offers networking opportunities.

Job Shadowing
Job shadowing is a self-organised exchange programme that serves the purpose of getting to know your own area of work at a partner university (e.g. visits to workshops, financial accounting, study department, library, etc.).
You accompany the day-to-day work in your field of activity and gain valuable experience for your work through this job shadowing. Job shadowing allows you and your colleagues at the partner university to make international contacts, get to know other approaches to work and share new ideas with the team at home.
 

Language courses
The language courses funded by Erasmus+ offer the opportunity to refresh or deepen foreign language skills on site and to strengthen intercultural competences.


Erasmus funding

The Erasmus+ mobility grant can be awarded within the framework of budgetary eligibility.

Mobility grants serve exclusively as a contribution to cover mobility costs (billing as a business trip), including the following costs:

  • Accommodation costs: Accommodation costs are paid as a lump sum per day and according to country category
  • Travel costs: Travel costs are compensated as a lump sum according to distance / sustainable travel is subsidised to a greater extent
  • Participation fees: may be incurred for staff training programmes
  • Participation in conferences cannot be funded!
     
  • The trip is organised as a business trip
  • Travel expenses will be invoiced according to actual costs in accordance with travel fee regulations
  • If the actual travel costs are higher than the calculated Erasmus grant (lump sum), co-financing must be provided by the relevant department
  • The Erasmus grant is only paid for the period of physical presence on site.
     
  • Green travel  link is supported.

The International Office will support you in planning your stay abroad if you experience a disadvantage in everyday university life due to medical reasons.
 

Language support

Erasmus Online Language Support OLS offers Erasmus+ students and staff the opportunity to take advantage of language support before, during and after their mobility phase and to have their language skills in the language of instruction or working language evaluated.
