Als zweite Haut ist Kleidung eine Membran zwischen uns und den unbequemen Wahrheiten der Bedingtheiten einer westlich-zentrierten „Zivilisation“. Mode implementiert und affirmiert unhaltsame Zustände. Zugleich birgt Mode das Potential einer Befreiung. „Uncomfortable Clothes“ ist eine Serie von Diskursen über die komplexen Dimensionen von Mode, Technologie und Kleidung, die seit 2020 von Fashion & Technology veranstaltet wird. Die gleichnamige Publikation vereint Beiträge von Vortragenden und Studierenden, die aus dieser Serie hervorgegangen sind. Launch of the new issue of splace magazine As a second skin, clothing acts as a membrane between us and the uncomfortable truths, the conditions of a western-centered "civilization". Fashion implements and affirms unsustainable conditions. At the same time, fashion holds the potential for liberation. "Uncomfortable Clothes" is a series of discourses on the complex dimensions of fashion, technology and clothing organized by Fashion & Technology since 2020. The publication of the same name brings together contributions from speakers and students that have emerged from this series. As a counterpart to the digital publication, "Uncomfortable Clothes" will be staged in the courtyard of the Kunstuni as a purely analog Litfass column newspaper.
