Interface Cultures "230312:QRmovie" is an interactive installation that shows a movie made up of QR codes. The user watches how the image of a QR is transformed becoming a new image. By using a mobile phone, electronic tablet or other device for QR reading, the user can access the hyperlinks that allow him to watch the hyperlinked film in small fragments of very short duration.
A hyperlink is a reference to data, leads us from one place to another, makes us jump in space to continue reading or gives extra information about the events. It is introduced as something non-linear in the reading. But a movie is linear; one frame is always followed by another. The frames are spatially ordered, so that the viewer sees the first frame, then the second, then the third etc. "230312:QRmovie" compares and contrasts the concepts ‘linear‘ and ‘non-linear‘, and transforms the non-linearity of the hyperlinks into something linear like a movie. Der Benutzer / Die Benutzerin sieht, wie sich das Bild eines QR Codes zu einem neuen Bild verwandelt. Durch die Verwendung eines Mobiltelefons, elektronischen Tablets oder eines anderen QR Lese-Geräts kann man auf die Hyperlinks zugreifen, die kurze Sequenzen des verlinkten Films zeigen.
Hyperlinks sind Verweise auf Daten, sie führen uns von einem virtuellen Ort zum anderen, lassen uns in diesem Raum hin- und herspringen um mehr Informationen zu bekommen.
Ein Film jedoch ist linear, ein Bild folgt dem nächsten. Die Bilder sind räumlich gordnet damit der Zuseher / die Zuseherin zuerst das erste, dann das zweite und das dritte sieht. "230312:QRmovie" vergleicht und kontrastiert die Begriffe "linear" und "nicht-linearen", und verwandelt die Nichtlinearität der Hyperlinks in etwas linear wie ein Film.
