Art Education
Art Education deals with the ‘art’ of teaching and the critical reflection of its form and content. It belongs to theories, models and ways of mediation as well researching them in the context of general education. At least since Comenius’ “Didactica Magna” (1657) educators study their instructional actions. Art methods are therefor the subject specific exploration of learning and teaching, how knowledge, skills and attitudes can be conveyed to students in a changing society. This results in the desire to develop an adequate methodology to justifiably enable literacy-related and individual-related teaching strategies for children and adolescents under the guiding principle of inclusive – art – education. Didactics at the University of Art and Design Linz encompasses didactic instruction in all departments of the teacher training program. Alongside the specifics of ‘the art of teaching’, the transdisciplinary potential towards the specific didactics of other subjects is central to its scientific study. *1978 holds the chair in Art Education at the University of Art and Design Linz since 2015.
After studying Art Education and Social Studies for the lower and upper secondary at the University Siegen (NRW, Germany) and completing a two-year teacher training program in Krefeld (NRW) she was employed as a secondary school teacher for a number of years. In 2014, she was a trainee at Goethe Institut Los Angeles and she received a postdoc scholarship of the DAAD at SUNY Buffalo State College in the United States. Her research and teaching focuses on international curriculum development, crossover, youth culture and inclusive education. Since 2016, she is one of the co-founders of Urban Artists in Linz.

Begegnungen zwischen Inklusion und Kunst
Die Abteilung Fachdidaktik lädt zu Diskussionen mit Prof. MA Mag. Dr. Robert Schneider und Univ.Prof. Dr. phil. Anna Maria Loffredo. Im Sommersemester startet das neue Format der Fachdidaktik „Köpfe im Dialog“. Einmal im Semester wird Kopf an Kopf diskutiert und im Wechsel an den jeweiligen Hausinstitutionen sind die Zuhörer_innen herzlich eingeladen, den Dialog mitzugestalten. Nach einem 15minütigen Impulsreferat von Prof. MA Mag. Dr. Robert Schneider der PH Salzburg, begegnen sich die Köpfe mit aktuellen Fragen und möglichen Antworten zu Inklusion und Kunst. Prof. Schneider lehrt seit 2015 Inklusionspädagogik in Salzburg und war mehrere Jahre als Lehrer tätig. Es werden Perspektiven, Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze zur anstehenden Implementierung von Inklusion in kunst-/pädagogisches Handeln erörtert und zusammen mit dem Publikum nach unterrichtsnahen Antworten gesucht.You are welcome to rethink art/education with us! 1.
