Not only have I as a person had to adapt to a new situation,
but also my art has been exposed to a different environment.
Though you wouldn’t think that changing your location would make such a big difference,
it certainly does, even if it goes unnoticed at first.
You have to adapt.
Getting up early isn’t possible.
Here, life starts the earliest at 9.00 am.
You don’t stop at a red light; instead, you go.
Although you have more time here and are more relaxed.
Standing in line is the most normal thing to do.
Going to the supermarket means being patient.
Nobody knows you or has any preconceived notions of you.
You find a new rhythm.
The rhythm of the new place becomes your own.
You find out that your habitual style of working doesn’t make sense here.
You have to start from the beginning.
Your sense of vision gets overwhelmed and you have to start to sort things out
in order to get a clear view.
