Interface Cultures Clay is one of the oldest building materials, whose use is intuitively understood. Humans have always regarded the earth as the source of all things. Working with clay also involves an intense and powerful tactile experience.
The interactive installation provides an environment in which the visitor is invited to participate actively. The process takes place on the surface of a sketch book. When the visitor starts to model the clay which is provided, a web camera records the motions of his/her hands. The participant will leave two types of traces; a physical and a digital one. The recorded hands will be projected on the floor in a form of a video mosaic. Exhibition at: IC at ars electronica 2014, Linz, Austria Ton, dessen Verwendung von allen Menschen intuitiv begriffen wird, ist einer der ältesten Baustoffe überhaupt. Schon immer betrachten die Menschen die Erde als die Quelle aller Dinge. Die Arbeit mit Ton stellt auch eine intensive und starke haptische Erfahrung dar. Diese interaktive Installation schafft ein Umfeld, in dem sich die BesucherInnen aktiv beteiligen sollen. Dieser Prozess findet auf der Oberfläche eines Skizzenbuchs statt. Wenn die BesucherInnen beginnen, den beigestellten Ton zu formen, nimmt eine Webkamera die Bewegungen ihrer Hände auf. Zwei Arten von Spuren werden dabei hinterlassen – körperliche und digitale. Die Aufnahme der Hände wird in Form eines Videomosaiks auf den Boden projiziert.
