The Perspective 40 Under 40 Awards 2019 marked the 13th consecutive year of recognising 40 young design talents from the fields of art, architecture, interior design and product design.
The 40 Under 40 Awards celebrate the achievements and talents of a young generation of individuals paving the way for design in Hong Kong, the Asia-Pacific region and further abroad.
This year's event took place May 28 and was once again held at The Annex event space in Central. The event was attended by more than 200 industry professionals, including acclaimed architects, interior and product designers, artists, thought leaders and business influencers.
Florian Seidl, Design manager, Lavazza (ITALY)
Lavazza corporate design ranges from domestic coffee and espresso machines to professional office machines and vending solutions, tableware, accessories and the company packaging. The in-house team handles most of the design-related activities, but also collaborates with external studios and agencies. Numerous products designed for Lavazza are already on the market and have won important design awards – among others several iF, Red Dot and German Design Awards. Many of these projects were developed with partners in the Asia-Pacific region and are currently in production in China.
Before joining Lavazza, Seidl was a senior member of the design team that developed the Fiat 500 successfully into a range of different models.
