Introduction by the Rector

The Forum of Friends and Alumni of Kunstuniversität Linz was set up in 2001 as the first alumni association established at an Austrian university of the arts.
More than perhaps for any other institution of higher learning, it is true for a university whose very name comprises the many facets of design that the vibrant interaction between university and alumni will benefit both parties: the advantage for graduates lies in the fact that they attain access to university facilities and events as well as to new thematic developments. Conversely, the university’s awareness of the paths and career requirements of its graduates as well as the input provided by their professional and social practice are extremely important for the ongoing monitoring and fine-tuning of teaching, research and project programmes.
Moreover, the Forum offers its members a variety of services and different events. It has thus become an essential, fundamental and constantly evolving element of our University. Reinhard Kannonier
