The fine arts curriculum covers the following key qualifications:

  • conceptual skills: the ability to realise where to take which artistic action.
  • practical implementation skills in the areas “sculpture – transmedial space”, “experimental design” and “painting & graphic art”.
  • theoretical competence: scientific theory as a source of inspiration, as an instrument of research and critical reflection, and as a tool for developing and using argumentation skills.
  • organisational skills/professional techniques: entrepreneurial and communication skills for self-organisation.

Moreover, the programme provides options for access to any professional activity in the fine arts or art-related fields, including those hitherto unknown or yet to evolve.
Apart from the career goal of becoming a visual artist in any of a variety of different media, potential activity areas include applied visual arts, curatorship, exhibition design, art review, art theory and those areas in the cultural business directly related to the visual arts.
