SHUTTLE - a course for an innovative culture of weaving
The University of Art and Design Linz, in cooperation with the Textile Centre Haslach is offering a one year course in weaving entitled SHUTTLE: a course for an innovative culture of weaving. SHUTTLE is a part-time course working on a module-basis. It is aimed at persons with a background in textiles who are interested in furthering their education. The aim of the course is to strengthen the interface between machine production and design as well as drawing people from the fields of industry and art closer together. We welcome both people who have an artistic background as well as those who have long-term experience on the technical side of textile production. The course will be held in the Textile Centre Haslach which lies approximately 45 km north of Linz, in Austria. Here there are a range of looms, machines and equipment available for use by the participants.
The SHUTTLE course begins again in Ocotber 2015.
A pilot course was held from the 14. – 20. April, 2011, in which an international group of artists, designers, and technicians took part. Through the evaluation of this course, we have adapted the study plan to further optimise it.
